Description: Psychological cases are just as terrifying as old-school horror movies. All terrible psychopaths live in mundane hiding in our society. A person’s appearance does not reveal whether they are normal or abnormal. If you love psychological thrillers, then you must watch this movie.

Psycho is about a serial killer and it is remembered for its contribution to the horror genre.

These movies are so good that you will want to just send Halloween wishes to everyone and cozy up yourself at home and have a scary movie marathon.

Actors: Daniel Kaluuya, Allison Williams, Bradley Whitford

Available on: Amazon Prime Video, Peacock TV

The story starts when Rose takes her partner Chris, a young African-American man, to their farmhouse, where a series of increasingly disturbing discoveries lead him to a truth he could never have imagined.

It’s a thought-provoking film that will make you question your own prejudices and where you stand, if you stand at all, in this racially charged world.

5. The Witch (2015)

Actors: Anya Taylor-Joy, Ralph Ineson, Kate Dickie

Available on: Hulu, Amazon Prime Video, Netflix

Description: The Witch, unlike most Halloween movies, is unique and experimental.

Actors: Devon Sawa, Ali Larter, Kerr Smith

Available on: Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV

Description: Final Destination pioneered a new direction in horror filmmaking. One of its distinguishing features is the absence of a ghost or serial killer as the antagonist, as seen in other horror films. Its antagonist is “death” itself. So far, five parts have been released in this series. Death scenes in films depict how “death” manipulates various elements of the environment to track down its victims.

Even though this is not your typical horror movie, it is terrifying enough to leave you traumatized. I know I am every time I re-watch!

This is a true horror classic, and many subsequent films have been inspired by it.

10. Midsommar (2019)

Actors: Florence Pugh, Jack Reynor, Vilhelm Blomgren

Available on: Hulu, Amazon Prime Video, Netflix

Midsommar, in contrast to traditional scary movies, takes place entirely in daylight and lacks any supernatural elements or creepy touches from the shadows. It draws a fine line between psychological trips and mythology.
